Welcoming Our Newest Team Members (Q3 2025)
As we continue to grow and strengthen our multidisciplinary team, we’re thrilled to welcome four new members to Pragmatic Professional Engineers. Each brings unique experience, curiosity, and enthusiasm to our collaborative environment. Their diverse skills and fresh perspectives will help us continue delivering innovative and coordinated engineering solutions for our clients.
Join us in getting to know them below.
Raymond Alexander — Engineering Intern, HVAC
Raymond, or “Ray,” is a senior at San José State University pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He first learned about Pragmatic through his HVAC design class and is now interning with our Mechanical Engineering team to deepen his understanding of real-world design and project coordination.
Outside of school and work, Ray enjoys programming, swimming, and gaming with friends. His curiosity and eagerness to learn make him a great addition to our growing team of emerging engineers.
Amrit Singh — Engineer, Plumbing
Amrit joins our Plumbing team with over 20 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection system design. He is passionate about using modern tools like Revit and 3D modeling to enhance coordination across trades and ensure design precision. Amrit values teamwork both in the office and at home, drawing parallels between collaborating with colleagues and engaging in outdoor activities with his family.
A longtime Bay Area resident, Amrit enjoys running, biking, and spending time outdoors with his wife and two sons, who are homeschooled and share his love for adventure.
Oscar Zavala-Solis — Engineer, Fire Protection
Oscar holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San José State University and brings a strong foundation in design, problem-solving, and technical analysis to our Fire Protection team. His attention to detail and disciplined approach extend beyond work—he enjoys playing guitar, writing, and restoring fountain pens, activities that keep him creative and focused.
Oscar values learning through both technical challenges and personal reflection, and we’re excited to see his thoughtful approach strengthen our engineering culture.
Zuhair Sawaged — Engineer, Fire Protection
Zuhair recently earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from San José State University and is currently preparing for his FE exam. His interest in building systems and commitment to continuous learning align perfectly with our firm’s collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Outside of work, Zuhair enjoys watching sports, taking on home improvement projects, and spending time with family and friends. We’re glad to welcome him as he begins his professional journey in Fire Protection engineering.
